Quarrier corner: Haven readies for busy summer
April 16. 2014 6:00AM
At Haven, we have lots of exciting activities planned, with a different theme each week throughout the summer.
We’ll go on adventures during our Friday field trips to area attractions such as the Washington Pavilion and Cinedome, Ingalls Homestead, Good Earth State Park, Skyzone, Great Plains Zoo, Prairie Village, Wild Water West, Dells Bowl, Pipestone National Monument, Porter Sculpture Park, Mary Jo Wegener Arboretum, Heartland Country Corn Maze, the Children’s Museum and area aquatic centers.
Join us every day, or just a few. Full-day and half-day rates apply. Reduced rates are available for those who qualify for free or reduced lunches. Students who have completed a year of kindergarten, up to age 12, are eligible to participate in the summer programs.
Stay active this summer by participating in the Summer Recreation Program, sponsored by the city of Dell Rapids. Students will meet for an hour each day, Monday through Thursday, for 11 weeks at the Old Elementary gym. Summer packets with detailed information and registration forms are available at the school offices, at Haven, at http://haven.dellrapids.k12.sd.us or by calling 366-8612. Summer Recreation packets are available at the same locations, as well as at City Hall. Registration deadline ia April 30. Ongoing enrollment will be accepted as space is available.
The summer Haven season and recreation programs start Monday, May 19.
