Screening America, an organization focused on detecting risk factors for sudden cardiac death in young people, will be at Dell Rapids High School on Thursday, Jan. 23. People ages 12 to 34 are eligible for a screening.
The screenings include a blood pressure check, a full EKG, a heart ultrasound and a review of the results by a cardiologist.
If at least 18 people register, a group rate of $50 will be charged for each screening.
Children getting screened must bring a signed consent form, fill out a health history questionnaire and a Marfan form. The required forms can be picked up in the school district office or at screening-america.com.
To schedule a screening, call 605-428-5473, extension 1. Appointments will take place during the school day. Payment will be collected at time of screening.
