Post 65 goes 2 for 3 to end regular season

Dell Rapids Post 65 ended a successful regular season of legion play with a 9-6 record after picking up two wins in three games last week.
A breakout game for Jason Michel spurred Post 65 to a 12-5 home-field win over West Central Monday, July 8 at Rickeman Field.
Michelís trio of timely hits, including a triple, had the first basemen crossing home plate three times on the night.
Tanner Solbergís three walks, one hit and two runs also help Post 65 get some separation from West Central.
Other offensive contributors for Dell Rapids were Wes Hansen and Matt Kolbeck, each scoring twice. Hansen and Cole Langer each had one hit, and Zane Schumacher recorded a double in the win.
Post 65 25, Aurora 15
In only took eight innings for Post 65 to come out on top in a slugfest with Aurora Tuesday, July 9 at Rickeman Field. Dell Rapids won on the 10-run rule by 25-15.
Hansenís second homerun in as many weeks was one of four hits for the slugger. His other three hits were a single and two doubles.
Dell Rapids saw multi-hit games from five other players:
Solberg had two doubles, Langer a double and a single, Kolbeck had two doubles and a single, Derrick Vortherms had a triple and a single and Spencer Kerzman recorded a trio of singles.
Garretson 5, Post 65 3
Post 65ís bats went cold as Dell Rapids fell to Garretson on the road to end the regular season Saturday.
Hansen again had a multi-hit performance in the losing effort with three hits. Solberg also had two hits for Dell Rapids.
Post 65 will start post season play with a rematch against Garretson in the first round of the region tournament at 5 p.m. Thursday in Madison.
