A 33-year-old Dell Rapids man has been indicted for burglary, kidnapping and assault for an alleged fight with his ex-wife late last month.
Jeremy Ray Royerkerns, 33, allegedly came to the woman’s home on the 300 block of West 10th Street in the early morning hours of May 30, according to Jason Gearman of the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim attempted to leave during the course of the fight and tried at least once to call 911, but Royerkerns reportedly used physical force to stop her from doing both.
She was not seriously injured during the altercation, Gearman said.
The Minnehaha County grand jury voted last week to indict Royerkerns on two counts of first-degree burglary and second-degree kidnapping, as well as attempted second-degree rape, interference with emergency communications and four counts of simple assault.
