Dell Rapids' ward 4 voters think it’s time for a change. Councilor Carrie Testerman lost her reelection bid Tuesday during the city council election at the Dell Rapids fire station to land and business owner Lee Burggraff. Of the 95 ward 4 voters who turned out for the vote, 60 favor Burggraff.
Ward 1 also picked new representation Tuesday. Skip Tool and Gary Haak were both vying for the council spot left open by departing councilor Todd Wiebenga, but it was Haak who garnered the most votes. With a vote of 34-16, Haak secured the opportunity to represent Ward 1. Both Burggraff and Haak will be sworn into office at the May 6 Dell Rapids City Council meeting.
