Fans of the St. Mary’s girls basketball team watched an efficient performance by their Cardinals Thursday night in Dell Rapids. St. Mary’s beat Arlington 40-23.
The Cardinals started the game strong and took a 19-15 lead into the half, and continued to play at a high level throughout the remainder of the game.
“I felt that we played really well,” said Josh Lebrun, Cardinals head coach. “The key to the game was that we were able to break their full court press and not turn the ball over. We also created turnovers with our own defensive pressure and turned that into easy baskets.”
The Cardinals’ Kelly Michel led all scorers with 15 points.
