Blood drive in Dells Thursday
January 08. 2013 2:36PM
January is National Blood Donor month, and Community Blood Bank will hold a blood drive from 7 to 11:10 a.m. and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 10 at the Dells Area Health Center to help increase the local blood supply.
During January blood donations decrease due to people struggling with a cold or flu, according to CBB.
Blood is needed daily for use in surgeries, cancer treatment, traumas and burn treatment, and donating only requires 20 to 30 minutes of time.
Donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 years old with a signed parent consent for, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health.
Potential donors can make appointments to donate in advance by calling 428-5431. Walk-ins are welcome, as well.
