St. Mary Middle School

The Cardinal middle school quiz bowl teams competed at the Greater Sioux Falls Home School meet held Oct. 22.

The teams included one with members Cassandra Geraets, Emma Nelson, Adyn Heinricy, Rhiannon Glazier and Drew Wood, which placed 22nd, and one with members Zach Geraets, Dalton Houska, Sam Schwebach, Carson Park and Jacob Eining, which placed 20th.

Baltic Junior High

Twenty-six teams competed in the Brandon-hosted junior high quiz bowl meet, including the two Baltic teams.

Team 1, including Thomas VanderBruggen, Drew Stadem, Isaac Land, Cooper McGreevy and Eric Mohr, placed eighth overall, while Team 2, including Alexander Todd, Brigette Nelson, Jayden Pittmann, Zach VanEck and Travis Cuperus, placed 14th.

The top six teams received medals. Brandon Valley took the match with 122 points, while the Greater Sioux Falls Home School Association placed second with 120 points.

The next meet for the junior high team is Monday, Nov. 5, in Brandon Valley.
