Council passes ordinances, approves payments
The Baltic City Council Oct. 9 saw an approval for Ordinance 238, which changed the term lengths for city elected officials, as well as the supplemental budget for 2012, which included $223,014 in appropriations.
The council approved a payment for work on the Baltic Heights Bike Trail, as well as a certificate of substantial completion. The city withholds $7,500 of the amount due pending completion of the punchlist items.
Finally, the council approved payment for contractors on the Elm Avenue project in the amount of $64,710.27, including reimbursements for engineering.
Baltic construction projects updated
Baltic’s maintenance administrative assistant, Ryan Fods, told the council Oct. 9 that paving on Fifth Street had been started, while blading was to begin Oct. 12. Underground work on Elm Avenue by Second and Third streets had been finished, grading and gravel work had begun.
Fods estimated that by about Oct. 20, Third Street through Douglas also should be done.
