Bulldog squad brings record to 6-5

The Baltic Bulldog players brought in a match win and loss in the week’s matches, as Irene-Wakonda’s hosting gig proved an opportunity for the Baltic girls and Parker’s visit to the home team added a miss.
The Irene-Wakonda match Sept. 18 handed Baltic a 3-0 victory, with set scores of 26-24, 25-20 and 25-20.
“We played very determined and focused last night,” coach Matt Konz said. He cited Allie Walter’s efforts, including seven kills, four blocks and four ace serves, among the team’s leadership.
Morgan Forsch picked up three kills and four digs, while Jenna Brende, Michelle Schwab and Abby Weinzetl each took three kills. Weinzetl additionally provided eight assists to the offensive.
The Bulldog junior varsity and “C” squads each won their respective matches as well.
Hosting Parker Sept. 20, the Bulldogs fell to the visiting team, 3-0 (9-25, 17-25, 18-25).
Walter again led the squad with eight kills and two blocks, while Forsch tallied six kills and three digs.
Hunter Roberts snatched up four digs and two ace serves, while Weinzetl contributed 12 set assists.
The “C” team took the win that night, with set scores of 26-24 and 27-25, while the junior varsity team dropped the match, 12-25 and 9-25.
