Traveling to De Smet last Thursday, the Dell Rapids St. Mary cross country squad took on competition, placing the team’s boys in fourth place and one girl runner in the top 10 individual results.

The boys ran three competitors in the 52-wide field, placing fourth, while Deubrook Area took first place. Jase Kraft of Wessington Springs topped the individual rankings (17:11.2), while St. Mary’s top runner was Ethan Schmidt (18th place, 20:08).

Mitch Roemen brought in 19th place (20:13.6), while Matt Farmer rounded out the squad in 24th place (20:39.7).

St. Mary ran one team member in the girls division, Anna Wolles, who took No. 10 ranks with a 17:53 final time. Mikayla Prouty of Clark/Willow Lake took first (15:55.8).
