Baltic overcomes St. Mary
Bulldogs take on Cardinals on Dells home turf

After getting off to an early head start, the Baltic Bulldog girls basketball team booked it past the St. Mary Cardinals in a Dells-hosted game Jan. 23.
The St. Mary girls kept close tabs on the Bulldogs in the first quarter, with a Baltic lead of 14-9 at the end of the period, but Baltic widened the gap in the second, 29-18.
After a 16-point third quarter tally for the Bulldogs, the game-ending score rested at 56-35, in favor of the visiting team.
Morgan Forsch led the Baltic girls in scoring, with a 22-point game, while Allie Walter picked up 10 points for the visiting team. Chelsey Foster contributed 8 points, while Amelia Atkins sunk six.
Walter grabbed 10 rebounds for Baltic, while Kari Folsland picked up four. Forsch managed three steals from the St. Mary offense, while Walter, Foster, Atkins and Folsland each retrieved two.
For St. Mary, Kelly Michel led the team’s offense, with 12 points to the tally, while Amber Hansen added eight to the scoreboard, and Lexie LeBrun sunk five.
Brooke Wolles led the defensive line, with six rebounds to LeBrun’s five. Anna Wolles also snatched up two steals for the night.
